The Challenge
When the SBA approves a disaster loan, the borrower has usually just lost a home or a business. The legacy process took 6–8 weeks from application to funding.
The Solution
As part of the team building lending.sba.gov, I built the payment processing application and Pay.gov integration, the disaster declaration and amendment workflows, the DocuSign integration — and the OAuth provider now used across the disaster lending platform and VetCert.
What I Built
Pay.gov Payment Processing
Federal payment rails integrated for loan disbursement and repayment.
OAuth Provider
Single sign-on I built that now serves the disaster lending platform and the SBA's VetCert service.
Disaster Declaration & Amendment Workflows
The administrative machinery that turns a federal disaster declaration into fundable loans.
DocuSign Integration
Closing documents executed electronically instead of by mail.
Outcome
- Funding timelines measured in days, not weeks
- In production as the federal government's disaster lending platform
